Labour inspection that seeks to enforce the protection of employees at work and the performance of state administration in the field of labour inspection is regulated by the Act No. 125/2006 Coll. on Labour Inspection and on amendment of Act No. 82/2005 Coll. on Illegal Work and Illegal Employment and amendment of certain acts.

State administration in the area of labour inspection is performed by state administration bodies, which are the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, the National Labour Inspectorate and Labour Inspectorates. State administration body coordinating activities of state administration bodies in the field of labour inspection is the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic.
